Artist Biography

Susan Leshnoff uses nature as a subject, concentrating on visions of the sky and its spiritual interpretation. Her paintings have been included in a number of group exhibits in the tri-state area, including the Monmouth Museum, Kean University, and The College of St. Elizabeth, in New Jersey; the Philadelphia Foundation and the Da Vinci Art Alliance in Philadelphia; and Pleiades Gallery in New York City. In the Fall of 2014, Susan had a solo exhibition, “SkyVisions” at the Lederer Gallery at the State University of New York (SUNY) in Geneseo. Prior one person shows were at Colombia University and Union Theological Seminary in NYC. Susan was named Faculty Emeritus in Fine Arts in 2015 at Seton Hall University, South Orange NJ, where she taught for 17 years as Associate Professor of Fine Arts and Former Chair of the Department of Art, Music and Design. Her keen interest in the history of Art Education, particularly before and during the Holocaust, has resulted in presentations at international, national and regional conferences and publications as book chapters and journal articles.
